Natasha Richardson - Died on Wednesday night

The lights on Broadway were dimmed on Thursday night for one minute to mark the death of actress Natasha Richardson.

The 45-year-old died in a New York hospital on Wednesday night, two days after suffering a head injury while skiing in Canada.

The Associated Press reports that the star's husband, Irish actor Liam Neeson, was embraced by fellow actors, including Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, as he stood on 45th Street in Broadway as the lights were dimmed.

Reuters reports that the New York medical examiner said the cause of Natasha Richardson's death was an epidural haematoma caused by a blunt impact: a bruise to the head that caused bleeding in the brain.
