Actor Ron Silver has died aged 62 from esophageal cancer.
The 62-year-old was best know for his recurring role as Bruno Gianelli in 'The West Wing' and for playing Alan Dershowitz in 'Reversal of Fortune'.
"Ron Silver died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him this morning," Robin Bronk, executive director of the Creative Coalition, told the New York Post. The actor helped found the group, which supports a range of liberal causes.
The New Yorker was an activist and union leader with actor’s equity. Although a long-time Democrat he disagreed with the party over the War on Terrorism and spoke at the 2004 Republican National Convention.
He had a son and daughter with his ex-wife, Lynne Miller.
