Footballer Ashley Cole will escape a showdown with wife Cheryl for a few more days.
As the Girls Aloud singer arrived back in the UK from her charity mountain climb, her husband is escaping to Italy for a football match.
Cheryl is on a high after conquering Kilimanjaro with other celebrities in aid of Comic Relief. However, she was swiftly brought back down to earth when it was revealed that Ashley was arrested in London for being drunk and disorderly.
The 'X Factor' judge is said to be fuming with her husband.
Newspaper reports say the left-back was photographed chatting to a 'mystery blonde' on the night of his arrest.
It has previously been claimed that Ashley cheated on Cheryl with a hairdresser.
A friend of the popstar told The Sun: "She knows he has been acting the fool and she is furious."
Cole was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning for swearing at police officers. He was given an £80 fine and kept in custody for around three hours.
