Supermodel Helena Christensen has revealed that she was extremely body conscious growing up.
In an interview with In Style Magazine, Christensen said: “It's the usual story, I was super-skinny, mocked by other kids.”
"I started to fill out at 18, 19, but I can still feel the pain of all those years. Maybe because I dealt with those issues growing up, I wasn't going to let anyone make me feel uncomfortable about my body again."
Speaking about her diet, she said: "I eat more than anyone I know. I'm obsessed! [Food] takes up about 75 percent of my brain. I eat like a pig."
Christensen admitted that she increased her exercise regime to make up for her eating habits.
She said: "I'm super lucky with my metabolism. I have to be realistic, that might not always be the situation. That's why I chose really intense training."
Speaking about turning 40, the model said: "Age in itself doesn't freak me out; I'm in better shape than I was at 25 because I'm actually doing something physical."
