The CW network in the US has ordered a pilot episode for an updated version of 1990s hit 'Melrose Place'.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Davis Guggenheim, who won the Best Documentary Oscar for 'An Inconvenient Truth', will direct the pilot episode.
Guggenheim's other credits include '24', 'Deadwood', 'The Unit' and 'Party of Five'.
He will also work as executive producer on the pilot; if the pilot episode is successful a series will be made.
