'Dancing on Ice' judge Jason Gardiner has said that the show's contestants should stop blowing his comments "out of proportion".

Gardiner recently compared Roxanne Pallett to a "cabbage patch doll" and branded Ellery Hanley "Mr Potato Head".

According to Digital Spy, Gardiner defended himself by saying: "I think people do take things out of proportion."

"My colourful descriptive comments are only meant to be fun and are not meant to cause offence."
