It has been announced that Jett Travolta, son of the actors John Travolta and Kelly Preston, died from "seizure disorder" after pathologists performed an autopsy on his body.
Travolta's son died last week at his family's holiday home in the Bahamas after suffering a seizure.
Reuters reports that Bahamian authorities will not be making public the results of the autopsy because, "there is nothing criminal about the situation".
The funeral director at the Restview Memorial Mortuary, to which Jett Travolta's body was brought after the autopsy, said that the death certificate listed "seizure disorder" as the cause of death.
Jett Travolta, 16, had a history of seizures. He was found unconscious in a bathroom at the family holiday home in the Old Bahama Bay resort on Grand Bahama Island on Friday morning (2 January) and then pronounced dead after being taken to hospital in Freeport.
Travolta and Preston, who also have an 8-year-old daughter, issued a statement on Sunday.
It said: "Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time that we had with him for the rest of our lives."
