Paris Hilton's Los Angeles mansion has been burgled and the thief got away with €1.4m in jewellery.

According to Now Magazine a thief entered the front door of the star's €4.2 million property in an exclusive gated community.

And he got away with jewellery worth £1.3million during the raid on Friday morning.

Speaking to Life and Style Weekly, Paris said: "I am devastated. I cannot believe someone broke into my home.

"They took items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace."

Paris, 27, who was not at home during the burglary, has security cameras installed at the property.

LAPD spokesman, Ben Llewellyn, said: "A security guard called in and reported that the residence was broken into.

"Our detectives learned that a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door. The man ransacked the bedroom."
