Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's marriage is safe and strong, according to friends and family.
OK Magazine reported that Paltrow has been spotted partying in the US with pal Madonna, while Martin tours the UK with Coldplay, prompting rumours their five-year marriage is in trouble.
However Paltrow's close friend chef Mario Batali, who shot a TV cookery show with the actress, insists there's no truth to the rumours.
He told OK! Magazine: "Not true. I see them all the time. I don't think they're having problems."
Batali added that the pair's children Apple and Moses help to keep their marriage strong.
He said: "If you meet their kids, their kids are cool. And their kids have the fascination with new and open-eyed experiences. They're delightful.
"Which means they're being taken care of at home by their parents. That's the key. They're really stay-at-home parents in a way that only rock stars and Academy Award winning actors can be.
"They've got a time to choose when they work, and they don't have to work all the time."
Paltrow’s mother, actress Blythe Danner, has also slammed blog reports that the couple’s marriage is on the rocks.
Speaking to US Magazine, Danner said: "Good God, it's just so tragic that people have to make up stuff. I've never seen two happier parents or people, so I don't get it."
Speaking about her grandchildren, three-year-old Apple and one-year-old Moses, she said: "They're pretty fabulous."
As for reports that Paltrow plans on quitting the business, Danner insisted: "She very much wants to go back to work.
"She didn't set out to be a movie star, she set out to be a wonderful actress. But motherhood is very important to her, as it was to me, and I think she's finding balance."
