Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine used their appearances at a Nobel Peace Concert to appeal to world leaders to find peace.
According to the Daily Mail the pair hosted the concert, which included a performance from 64-year-old Diana Ross, marking former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari's Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony.
Johansson urged world powers to pay heed to Ahtisaari's method of mediation as a means of ending conflict.
The 24-year-old actress said: "It is important to remind young people that peace is the only real victory."
She added that mediation is the way forward: "...not the way that US has handled it the past two terms which is: 'don't discuss.'"
Caine recalled his own experiences in conflict, as a child during the Second World War and as a soldier during the Korean War.
He said: (that) "...is sort of the reason why I am here."
