Singer Heather Small has spoken out about her nerves which have caused her performance problems on 'Strictly Come Dancing.'

Small and professional dance partner Brian Fortuna have been forced to dance for survival in the dance-off in the last two weeks. On both occasions the panel of judges saved Small over fellow celebrities Jessie Wallace and Don Warrington.

Speaking last night on 'It Takes Two' Small said: "I have to say, I am not an easy performer. Even though I sing for a living, the journey I have to go through to get to the stage is a long one, so going out there every Saturday - I mean, I don't sleep Friday night - I am terrified."

Fortuna said "I don't think people really understand how nervous Heather is. She loves what she's doing, I can tell you that... but she's scared to death."
