Daniel Craig has revealed that Irish actor Pierce Brosnan urged him to take on the role of Bond.
According to OK Magazine, the 'Quantum of Solace' star recalled their conversation before he was offered the role in 'Casino Royale'.
He said: "I sat next to him [Brosnan] at the BAFTAs after dinner...I just went over [to him] and said, 'Look, it’s not on the cards. It might be on the cards.
"'If it were to be on the cards, what should I do?' And he said, 'Go for it. Just go for it. You’ve got to have a go at this.'"
Asked about his favourite Bond, Craig said: "Sean Connery without a doubt. Nothing against Pierce and everyone else."
'Quantum of Solace' is in Irish cinemas from 31 October.
