It is reported this morning that film director Guy Ritchie has told his lawyers he wants "not one penny" of Madonna's £300 million fortune as they finalise their divorce. Richie is believed to be personally worth around £30 million.
The claim is made in The Sun newspaper which also reports that Madonna began divorce proceedings due to his lack of support for her Kabbalah faith and his refusal to spend more time in New York.
A source is quoted in the newspaper as saying "Guy's initial support and interest in Kabbalah turned to annoyance and hatred. Guy doesn't believe Kabbalah is a religion on a par with Christianity. He thinks a lot of it is hokum - which has infuriated Madonna, who believes it a solution for many of the world's problems."
The report claims Ritchie “hit the roof" after discovering Madonna's reasons for divorce, with the source adding: "He thinks she's trying to make him out to be the villain of the piece. He's incandescent with rage."
The pair have an eight year old son, Rocco, an adopted son David (2) and Madonna has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, by dancer Carlos Leon.
Madonna is represented by divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton and the pair have no pre-nuptial agreement.
