Singer Nick Cave has agreed a deal to publish his second work of fiction next year, 20 years after his debut novel.
Billboard reports that 'The Death of Bunny Munro' is due for release by Canongate in September 2009.
The book follows a man who is travelling around the south coast of England with his son after the suicide of his wife.
Commenting, Canongate's managing director Jamie Byng said: "Nick is one of the great forces in contemporary culture - not just an outstanding musician and singer, but also a superb writer, be it of lyrics, screenplays, music scores or novels. This novel is going to shock and amaze a lot of people."
Cave's first novel, 'And the Ass Saw the Angel', was released in 1989.
