'X Factor' judge Cheryl Cole is reported to have had a bust up with fellow judge Simon Cowell at the boot camp stage of the competition.

'The People' has reported that Cole is unhappy with Cowell overruling her on a number of decisions. The row is reported to have developed over the elimination from the show of Leona Lewis’s childhood friend Duane Lamonte, who was a favourite of Cole’s.

A source told the newspaper: "Cheryl was fed up with Simon always getting his way. She loves doing 'X Factor' but doesn't feel happy with some of the decisions that have been made - mostly by Simon."

"It was the last straw for Cheryl. She thought Duane deserved to get through to the next stage," the insider explained. "But Simon was adamant that he should be sent packing."

This is Cole’s first year on the programme on the panel of four judges. She replaces Sharon Osbourne who chose not to return this year.
