The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' spin-off '90210' has been extended for a full season.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the CW network in the US, which screens the new series, has ordered an additional nine episodes, bringing the total number of episodes in its debut season to 22.

The new series premiered on US television on 2 September and attracted 4.9m viewers, giving the CW network record figures in the women 18-34, adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 categories.

Audience figures dropped significantly for the second episode but were up last week to 3.3m viewers.
