'Hollyoaks' actor Gerard McCarthy has said that he would like to star in 'Coronation Street'.
According to MyPark magazine, the actor, who plays Kris Fisher in 'Hollyoaks', said: "I've love to be part of the Connor family in 'Coronation Street' - they are in desperate need of a real Irish member."
"And when I was growing up, I always wanted to play Jim McDonald's long-lost son."
McCarthy said that he is already friends with 'Coronation Street' actress Kym Ryder.
The actor said: "Kym is one of my best mates. We both appeared in the West End musical 'Saturday Night Fever' in 2003, and I love her to bits."
