Actress Natalie Portman has screened her directorial debut at the Venice Film Festival.
Portman's short film, 'Eve', is about a young woman (Portman) who is forced to come along on her grandmother's (Lauren Bacall) date with a widower (Ben Gazzara).
Speaking at a news conference, Portman said: "The film was definitely inspired by personal experience and also all my friends, female friends, starting to define themselves in relation, and in reaction to, their mothers and their grandmothers."
Portman has recently been working with Irish director Jim Sheridan on his upcoming film 'Brothers'.
