Grey's Anatomy - Italian call to ban medical dramas

There has been a call from an Italian medical group for the country's broadcasters to refrain from airing medical dramas such as 'Grey's Anatomy' because of inaccuracy.

Reuters reports that Annalisa Silvestro, President of the National Federation of Medical Colleges in Italy, said that as well as 'Grey's Anatomy', offending programmes included 'ER', 'House' and 'Scrubs'.

Silvestro said: "These programmes are teaching viewers inaccurate views on medicine. They are spreading misinformation."

There has been no news on whether the state broadcaster RAI and Silvio Berlusconi's Mediaset plan to adjust their programming in response to the call.
