Bale will not face assault charges

Bale - Denied allegation
Bale - Denied allegation

'The Dark Knight' star Christian Bale will not face charges following an allegation from his mother and sister that he assaulted them in a hotel in London last month.

Reuters reports that the Crown Prosecution Service in the UK said: "Taking all the factors into consideration, the decision has been taken that there is insufficient evidence to afford a realistic prospect of conviction, and accordingly the police have been advised that no further action should be taken against Mr Bale.

"Whilst the CPS treats all incidents which take place in a domestic context seriously, it is important that the views of complainants are also taken into account when making decisions in such cases."

The 34-year-old star had been released on bail without charge after being questioned by police in late July; he denied the allegation.
