R&B star Usher has rehired his mother as his manager after his latest album failed to live up to expectations.

According to Us Magazine, the singer ended his 15-year professional relationship with his mother's record label, JPat Records, just days before Mother’s Day in the US.

The new father, 29, replaced his mum, Jonnetta Patton, with manager Benny Medina, who is partly responsible for the careers of stars such as Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez.

However after disappointing sales of his new album 'Here I Stand', the star has officially announced that his mother will be resuming her role in charge of his career.
