A judge in California has extended the conservatorship over singer Britney Spears' personal affairs for five months.

This means that the star's business and legal affairs are still controlled by her father Jamie and a lawyer.

In issuing her ruling, Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz said: "It is my understanding that Ms Spears is reluctantly agreeing that we extend the temporary letters (of conservatorship)."

There were no other details about the conservatorship, the 26-year-old's health or her business matters.
