'The Dark Knight' star Christian Bale has denied an allegation that he assaulted his mother and sister.
The 34-year-old actor was released on bail yesterday until a date in September pending further police inquiries about the allegation that he assaulted his mother and sister in his suite at a London hotel on Sunday.
In a statement, his spokesperson, Jennifer Allen, said: "Christian Bale attended a London police station today (Tuesday), on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister."
She added: "Mr Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police."
It has been reported that Scotland Yard has confirmed that Bale has been released on bail to a date in September pending further inquiries.
Bale will now continue the promotional tour for the release of 'The Dark Knight'.
