Pop singer Kylie Minogue has said it was an "incredible honour" to be presented with an OBE at Buckingham Palace in the UK.

The 40-year-old Australian star, who recently overcame breast cancer, received the Order of the British Empire (OBE) from the Prince of Wales, who was standing in for Queen Elizabeth II.

The award was presented in recognition of her services to music.

Speaking about the award, Minogue said: "It is an incredible honour for me to receive this award.

"It makes me feel both humble and proud to be recognised for doing a job that I love so much."

Speaking to the BBC after receiving her OBE from Britain's Prince Charles, Minogue said: "He asked me what I'm up to at the moment and said he is happy to see me better."

"I knew I would be nervous. I was very excited and to have my family here was magical," she said.
