Nicollette Sheridan is set to return to RTÉ's hit TV show 'Desperate Housewives' after being written out of the show at the end of the fourth series.
According to Entertainment Weekly the actress left at the end of the fourth season, filmed last year, but is set to reappear on Wisteria Lane in the forthcoming series.
According to the magazine, a source close to the production said that the actress was asked to reprise her role as man-eater Edie Britt and will make "several appearances" when the drama returns.
Sheridan's character, who is notoriously unlucky in love, will be getting a new romantic interest, played by a new cast member, 'Minority Report' star Neal McDonough.
The show's executive producer Marc Cherry is considering transporting the ladies either five years forward or back in their lives to freshen things up.
'Queer as Folk' actor Gale Harold will also guest star in the new season.
There are no further details on the "shocking" twist that Cherry promised would "change the whole series".
'Desperate Housewives' will return to RTÉ Two in the autumn.
