Sienna Miller will play Maid Marian in a remake of Robin Hood, the actress confirmed yesterday.
Russell Crowe will play the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham in the Hollywood film, which will be directed by Ridley Scott.
The movie is expected to be called 'Nottingham', and the film will focus on the love triangle between the sheriff, Maid Marian and Robin Hood. The actor who will play Robin Hood has yet to be confirmed.
Crowe and Ridley Scott previously worked together on the Oscar-winning 'Gladiator' in 2000, and more recently on 'American Gangster'.
Speaking to the BBC yesterday, 26-year-old Miller described working with Crowe and Scott as "as good as it gets", adding that she "could not have a better part".
She said: "It's happening. I just found out. It's the most exciting news in the world."
She added however that the film's future could be disrupted by the possibility of an actors' strike.
Miller said: "It's ridiculous. But there's this looming actors' strike, so it's not 100% sure that it's going to be made, but it's looking pretty certain."
Miller, who recently split from Notting Hill star Rhys Ifans, is currently promoting her new film 'The Edge of Love', in which she stars alongside Keira Knightley.
