Shooting has begun on 'Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins', the latest instalment in the multi-billion dollar 'Terminator' series.
The new film will star Sam Worthington and Christian Bale and began principal photography in Albuquerque, New Mexico earlier this month.
Set in 2018, it tells the story of John Connor (Bale), the man destined to lead the human resistance against Skynet and the Terminators.
Things are disrupted by the appearance of Marcus (Sam Worthington), who could come from either the past or the future and whose last memory is of having been on death row.
Apparently, the pair will "embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind".
'Terminator Salvation' is to be directed by McG and is the planned first instalment in a new 'Terminator' trilogy.
It is scheduled for release in late May, 2009.
