Over 150 Irish film industry executives will be in the South of France this week for the Cannes Film Festival, which begins tomorrow.
Among the Irish films lined up to be screened at Cannes are 'The Daisy Chain' starring Samantha Morton, 'The Escapist' featuring Brian Cox and Liam Cunningham and 'A Film with Me in It' with Dylan Moran.
'Eden', written by Offaly-born playwright Eugene O’Brien and part-financed by RTÉ, will also feature at the festival.
Directed by Declan Recks, the film recently won the award for Best Actress (Eileen Walsh) at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
The CEO of Independent News and Media PLC, Anthony O’Reilly, will be named Cannes 2008 Media Person of the Year.
The Cannes Film Festival runs from 16 to 25 May.
