Ewan McGregor is in talks to join Tom Hanks and Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer in the big screen version of the Dan Brown bestseller 'Angels and Demons'.
In 'Angels and Demons' symbologist professor Robert Langdon (Hanks) teams up with Vittoria Vetra (Zurer) to try and solve her father's murder and stop the plans of terrorists.
The Hollywood Reporter says that if McGregor reaches a deal he will play Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca, the aide of a late Pope who initially helps Langdon in his investigations.
Shooting on the Ron Howard-directed film is set to begin in Europe in June.
