Singer Ashlee Simpson has declined to directly answer questions about whether or not she is expecting a baby.
The 23-year-old star, who recently announced her engagement to Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz, was asked about the rumours on MTV's 'TRL' but dodged the question.
Simpson said that she would "have had a baby by now" if the rumours were true.
She also said: " I just think it's an inappropriate question to ask any woman. For me, that's something that I didn't ever want to respond to, because I think it's an inappropriate question."
"Some things, you want to keep personal, and I think that when people deny [pregnancy reports], it's probably because it's something they want to keep personal."
