Jared Leto is not interested in proposed plans for a 'Fight Club' musical, saying that the idea sounds "like a disaster".

David Fincher, who directed the 1999 screen version of Chuck Palahnuik's novel, recently revealed that he wanted to take 'Fight Club' to Broadway for the film's tenth anniversary.

Reports suggested that Fincher was working on the musical with Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor working on the songbook.

However, Jared Leto, who starred opposite Brad Pitt and Edward Norton in the 1999 film, was puzzled by the idea and was unsure if Fincher was joking.

He told MTV: "I think that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Could you imagine?

"Uh, I think if he isn't [joking], I'm gonna bite my tongue. You never know. It smells like disaster but it could be genius. I have no idea."
