Amy Winehouse was the big winner at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night, winning awards in five categories.
The singer won the awards for Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Solo performance (all for 'Rehab') and Best Pop Vocal Album ('Back to Black'). She performed two songs at the show via satellite.
However Winehouse was prevented from a clean sweep in the six categories in which she was nominated when Herbie Hancock won the Album of the Year award for 'River: The Joni Letters'.
Kanye West won four awards: Best Rap Solo Performance ('Stronger'), Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group ('Southside' with Common), Best Rap Song ('Good Life') and Best Rap Album ('Graduation').
Bruce Springsteen was the other big winner with three awards: Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance ('Radio Nowhere'), Best Rock Instrumental Performance ('Once Upon a Time in the West') and Best Rock Song ('Radio Nowhere').
'Once' duo Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová had been nominated in the Best Soundtrack Album and Best Song Written for a Motion Picture categories but failed to win in either.
