RTÉ Sport presenter Tracy Piggott has been speaking of her joy at becoming a mother at the age of 42.

In an interview in the new RTÉ Guide, Piggott speaks about when her daughter Tiah was born on 26 November in London, and her reaction when she first held the baby in her arms.

"I thought that there would be this amazing rush of emotion, but it was strange. I think I just said 'oh, hello!'" she says.

She continues: "There was so much going on. It was later, in the quiet time when I was tucked up in bed with Tiah snuggled under my arm and looking at her that I just kept bursting into tears and was very emotional. I just couldn’t believe it. You feel this absolute sense of wonder. It's a miracle. I still can’t believe that she came out of me."

During the interview Piggott also talks about her experience being pregnant in her forties and her plans for the future.
