'Batman Begins' star Christian Bale is in talks about starring in the fourth movie in the 'Terminator' series.
Variety reports that Bale is nearing a deal to play the hero, John Connor, in the blockbuster 'Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins'. The role of John Connor was previously played by Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl.
The new film, directed by 'Charlie's Angels' helmer McG, is due to begin shooting in Budapest in April.
It will reach the big screen in the summer of 2009 and producers see the film as the first part of a trilogy which will reinvent the 'Terminator' franchise.
Bale can currently be seen on Irish cinema screens in 'Rescue Dawn'. Read the review here.
His new film, the Bob Dylan-biopic 'I'm Not There', opens in Irish cinemas on 21 December.
