Currently in Dublin for gigs at the RDS, Kings of Leon have become the first band to be confirmed for next year's OXEGEN festival.
The quartet topped the poll on the OXEGEN website for the band most music fans wanted to see playing at the festival.
Commenting, Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill, said: "We love playing in Ireland, the fans are brilliant and we can't wait to play OXEGEN 2008."
Next year's festival will be a three-day event and will run from 11 to 13 July.
A limited number of 'Early Bird' tickets for the festival go on sale this Friday, 30 November, at 8am, priced €197.50 and limited to four per person.
