With the grand finale of US TV show 'Dancing with the Stars' taking place tonight, Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown is in first place on the scoreboard.
Brown and professional dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were awarded 55 out of a possible 60 points for their freestyle and cha cha dances.
After the show Chmerkovskiy paid tribute to Brown, saying that she had improved "100%" during their time together.
"She went from somebody who just had rhythm... to having the guts to come out and do this. She was one of my prize students," he said.
Racing driver Helio Castroneves and his professional partner Julianne Hough received 54 points while Marie Osmond and her partner Jonathan Roberts were awarded 46 points.
When the judges' scores are combined with viewers' votes tonight the third-placed couple will be eliminated; the remaining two couples will then perform one last dance - their favourite of the series - in their bids to win the title.
