Britney Spears' lawyer has said the pop star is taking 'security measures' to protect her children.

People.com reports that Sorrell Trope said in a statement yesterday that "Recent aggressive actions by individuals who have followed (Spears) and blocked her access, with and without the children, have resulted in her decision to take certain security measures which she hopes will only be necessary temporarily, for the protection of the children."

He did not elaborate on what the nature of the new measures were.

The 25-year-old singer is currently locked in a custody battle with her ex-husband Federline (29) over the care of their two boys, Sean Preston (2) and one-year-old Jayden James.

A judge ordered last week that Spears could no longer drive with her sons in the car after it was revealed that she had allegedly run a red light with them in the car.
