Troubled soul singer Amy Winehouse returned to the stage for the opening night of her UK tour, dedicating one of her songs to her husband who was jailed earlier this week.
In a sometimes brilliant, but often shambolic, set in Birmingham last night, Winehouse devoted the song 'Wake Up Alone 'to her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
She told thousands of fans at the city's National Indoor Arena: "This is for my husband."
The concert in Birmingham was the singer's first public performance since her spouse was arrested and jailed last week accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Fans booed before walking out of the gig enraged by Winehouse's incoherent performance, and were unimpressed when the singer stumbled on stage half an hour later than billed, before crashing into a guitar stand.
However, Winehouse was unfazed by the booing from the crowd - and threatened them with the wrath of Fielder-Civil.
She told the audience, "Let me tell you something. First of all, if you're booing you're a mug for buying a ticket. Second, to all the people booing - just wait till my husband gets out. And I mean that."
Dressed in a black mini skirt and shiny silver top with her trademark beehive hairdo, the 24 year old, if at times a little unsteady on her feet, still managed to belt out her best known songs, showing her recent rumoured problems with drink and drugs had not affected her vocal performance.
But the closing number, a cover of The Zuton's 'Valerie' descended into chaos when she stopped singing, dropped the microphone and walked off stage.
The Londoner has rarely been out of the headlines in recent months, dogged by rumours of alcohol and drug abuse as well as furious rows with her husband.
She cancelled summer shows and spent time in rehab earlier this year.
Earlier this week, Fielder-Civil was remanded into custody at Pentonville Prison on charges of perverting the course of justice over a court trial in which he is accused of assaulting a pub landlord in north London in June last year.
Winehouse plays Dublin's RDS Main Hall on Saturday 01 December.
