It has been reported that Amy Winehouse fell asleep three times during an interview with an American magazine last month.
Digital Spy reports that the singer could not stay awake while talking to Blender magazine about her battle with drugs and alcohol.
When asked if she was an alcoholic, she told the magazine: "I don't know. I'm a really big drinker. I used to be there before the pub opened, banging on the door."
She is reported to have apologised to reporter Jody Rosen after falling asleep saying: "Oh God, what is wrong with me? There's something wrong with me, I'm just really drowsy at the moment. I'm so sorry."
Her manager Raye Cosbert defended her behaviour, saying she had been on prescription medication “which makes her drowsy".
Winehouse told the magazine that she had been drug-free since her overdose in August, adding: "I don’t have time.”
Rosen wrote: "Amy has never exactly been a picture of health, but tonight she looks especially worse for wear - hunched, heavy lidded and just frail... Now her words are slurred, her eyelids drooping. Her head wobbles into a nod. She falls asleep for a second, wakes up with a start, mutters and drops off again. The smouldering cigarette in her left hand falls to the floor."
