'Emmerdale' actress Kate McGregor has announced that she will be leaving the show in December.
The actress, who has played Emily Kirk in the show for over eight years, is leaving pursue other projects.
Her exit storyline will see Emily moving away to become a vicar, after seeking the advice of the bishop.
According to the show's official website, the actress said: "I’ve had an amazing eight years on the show but feel the time is right to try something new."
"I will miss everyone at 'Emmerdale' desperately but I’m really excited about what the future holds.”
Kathleen Beedles, Series Producer said: “Kate has been an asset to the show and we wish her all the very best for the future."
