The 'Grey's Anatomy' spinoff 'Private Practice' has got the green light for a full first series.
Variety reports that the Kate Walsh-starring drama has been the Number One programme for adults in the 18-49 age group in the US over the past four weeks, averaging 12.8m viewers.
'Private Practice' follows Dr Addison Forbes Montgomery (Walsh) as she takes up a new position at a clinic in Santa Monica where two of her friends from medical school (Audra McDonald and Taye Diggs) work.
Like in 'Grey's Anatomy', there are personal and professional dilemmas for all the staff.
The press release for the series says: "At Oceanside Wellness Center, the doctors are dedicated pros; it's their private lives that need a little practice."
