Sarah Jessica Parker is to star in the film version of the Amy Cohen book 'The Late Bloomer's Revolution'.
The film tells the story of a single woman who, following the death of her mother, develops a stronger relationship with her father when they both find themselves on the dating scene.
Parker will produce the film through her production company Pretty Matches.
The creator of 'Gilmore Girls', Amy Sherman-Palladino, will make her directorial debut on the film.
Commenting on the film, Sherman-Palladino said: "Character stuff is what I do best, and there is an interesting lady at the centre of this who explores a relationship with her father, who'd always been the silent guy in the corner watching TV when her mom was around."
She added: "The humour is key here, and Sarah Jessica is a great comedienne."
