Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty's scheduled court appearance for sentencing has been adjourned until October 26.

The adjournment was the decision of the court and thought to be based on bureaucracy issues. It's not based on any request from Doherty or his associates.

Doherty had been due to attend West London Magistrates' Court today for sentencing for drug offences. The singer was arrested in May for possession of Class A drugs.

District Judge Davinda Latchlar had previously said that she would make a decision on Doherty's punishment based on a doctor's report on how well he was responding to his drug detox programme.

Latchlar said that Doherty faces either a community order or prison, depending on the doctor's report.
