TV presenter and DJ Alex Zane has banned songs by The Enemy from his breakfast radio show after his feud with the band intensified recently.

The former 'Popworld' presenter told listeners to his Xfm show that he would no longer be playing the band's songs after The Enemy singer Tom Clarke told him that he hoped he would get "hit by a bus on (his) way home" from the Vodafone Live Awards.

Zane played seven seconds of the band's song 'You're Not Alone' before announcing that he would never play the group's tracks on his show again.

The DJ said: "Those seven seconds are the last time The Enemy are going to be played on 'The Breakfast Show'."

"This is the first time I've ever done this and I don't want to do this. I like the music of that band and we've talked them up, made them Record Of The Week, but I've had enough."

"I'm done with them now. You can find them elsewhere on Xfm, I can't control that. But I think if someone can be that rude, offensive and nasty no matter how good his music is and how nice his bandmates are, I'm done with them."

"I think wishing death upon people in graphic ways is the point when you go 'You know what, I can't even find the humour in this anymore'. So that's The Enemy off 'The Breakfast Show' playlist forever," Zane said.

Tom Clarke of the Enemy explained his actions towards Zane by saying: "He interviewed us on 'Popworld' - a show I must point out that has been decommissioned since - and he just wasn't funny. He hadn't done his research and I told him he was just wasting everyone's time."
