Ben Mills, who was a contestant on last year’s 'X Factor', is reported to have turned down an offer from producers to make an appearance on this year's series.
Digitalspy reports that Mills has insisted he should never have taken part in the contest. He came third last year behind Ray Quinn and winner Leona Lewis.
The singer, who was mentored by Sharon Osbourne, revealed during a Variety Club charity event that he had been approached by to make an appearance during the current series.
He said: "I’m still in touch with people who work on 'X Factor'. They have been in touch and said do you wanna come on and do some stuff. But to be totally honest I’m really trying to sidestep anything to do with the 'X Factor' now because I don’t think it’s going to do me any favours.
The 27-year-old is signed to SonyBMG and is currently working on his second album.
