The surf element of Ireland's first music and surfing festival has been postponed.
Organisers of the Cois Fharraige event, which begins this evening in Kilkee, Co Clare, say they have had to reschedule the surfing competition because sea conditions are not suitable. The swell needed for surfers to catch a wave has not materialised.
A spokesperson said that Clare County Council - which issued the licence for the beach surf competition - advised them to postpone the planned contest.
The Cois Fharraige music event will continue as planned this weekend. It gets underway at 6pm this evening.
