Irish author Anne Enright is one of the six nominees for this year's Man Booker Prize.
Dublin-born Enright is nominated for her book 'The Gathering'.
She is joined on the shortlist by Nicola Barker ('Darkmans'), Mohsin Hamid ('The Reluctant Fundamentalist'), Lloyd Jones ('Mister Pip'), Ian McEwan ('On Chesil Beach') and Indra Sinha ('Animal's People').
The Man Booker Prize winner receives £50,000, while all six shortlisted authors receive £2,500 and a designer bound edition of their own book.
This year's winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on Tuesday 16 October.
