Irish-born television presenter Graham Norton is to co-present the first Eurovision Dance Contest.
Norton and fellow presenter Claudia Winkleman will be hosting the show On Saturday from the BBC Television Centre.
Couples from 16 countries across Europe will dance in the competition.
Nicola Byrne and Mick Donegan, who both participated in RTÉ's 'Celebrity Jigs 'n' Reels' show, will represent Ireland.
The contestants, who hail from Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Ukraine and the UK will perform two dances, one of which will be a free-style dance inspired by their country.
The Eurovision Dance Contest comes 52 years after the launch of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Launching the event in London's City Hall last night, Norton said: "I would have agreed to host a Eurovision Darts Contest. I just think this will be amazing."
The Eurovision Dance Contest will be screened on RTÉ One from 8pm on Saturday 1 September, with commentary from Marty Whelan.
