Pop singer Britney Spears has been cleared by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after members of the public complained about an injury which her pet dog had received.
According to People magazine, the SPCA contacted the singer after receiving complaints that Spears' dog London had broken its leg and had not received proper care for its injury.
SPCA president Madeline Bernstein said: "Over the past day or two we started receiving phone calls and e-mails from people that were concerned about the dogs in Spears's care."
However, the society later confirmed that it has "received written confirmation from a veterinarian that Britney Spears's dog London has received proper medical attention for a leg injury".
The SPCA in LA said in a statement that they "would like to thank Ms Spears for her cooperation on this matter as well as members of the public for their ongoing concern for the welfare of animals".
