Actor Owen Wilson has asked the media to allow him time to "heal in private" while receiving care during a "difficult time".
According to US reports, the 38-year-old comedy star was rushed to hospital on Sunday after emergency services responded to a "medical assistance call" from his home.
A fire department official in Santa Monica confirmed that firemen and police officers went to Wilson's home late on Sunday and transported a person to a local hospital for treatment.
Reports later claimed that Wilson had been admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills after his brother Luke and other family members were spotted at the hospital.
After much media speculation yesterday, Wilson issued a statement saying: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
According to People magazine, a hospital source has said that the actor is in "good condition".
